This site is dedicated to my father, Herb Shour, who (along with many other things) passed his love of the mountains on to me. We first travelled to Chalk Creek Canyon in the summer of 1967 and camped in the Cascade campgrounds. Since that time I have returned at least once every year (save one) to familiar views, friendly faces and new discoveries.

My kids now have this as part of their childhood and hold fond memories of a wonderful place of blue skies, tall pines and towering peaks. All this, thanks to my Dad's love for the mountains...and my Mom's willingness to camp with 4 "men"! 

 I would love to hear from any of you who knew my Dad and would like to share a memory with us. I know his grandkids would love to hear it!
